Health, Beauty, and Self-esteem
I have started reading The Obesity Myth, and it is really good, supported by the facts and gives some scary facts. How the FDA listens to testimony mainly give by people that make there living off helping people lose weight. More people thinking they need to lose weight = more money in there pockets. These people are the ones that told the FDA panel that the risks of taking Dexfenfluramine (fen-phen) where exceptable because it would help lose weight. When the facts where the drug would only help the person taking it lose about seven pounds more then without it.
The book is targeted to an American audience but I think it could be aclable to anyone living in the western culture.
